Cleaning and cleaning.

I've been cleaning since Friday, and I'm finally taking a well deserved break. It's taking a long time because we're not only cleaning but we are also cleansing our closets and drawers. We are separating a lot of things to donate. Although, so far I'm the only one doing this daily and the rest of the family do it during the weekends (when they're not working).

Anyways clearing out my closet I found my sister's old guitar and I was checking the strings and was able to record this cute little thing:

I've also been setting out Christmas stuff, so Minki got lucky. I set out some of her X-mas theme toys. Just look at that sassfluff being all cute!

Oh, and during my unplanned hiatus our freezer fizzled out so we've been freezer-less for a while. Today the new one finally came in and I can't wait to start using it! I have a ton of make ahead cookies recipes I've been dying to try and now I can. I'll keep you guys updated..

How has your week started? I'd love to know.

Of dogs and gifts.

Good morning to all!

It's finally Friday, and I've spent all my morning with my cuddle bug Nina. I was awake in bed going through emails and other notifications while she slept the morning away. She is a napper, she loves her sleep!

She got so grumpy when I said it was time to get up. Look at that little grumpy lion cub face! She is adorable.

I've been spending the majority of my time lately checking tracking for gifts that I got for my family. I've also become a gift wrapping machine! Every gift I already have, I've gift wrapped.

Now I'll spend the rest of today and this weekend finishing Christmas cleaning, so the decorating can commence.

I'll hopefully post more (Fingers crossed) this weekend. Until then, happy Friday!!!

What are your weekend plans? Have any of you started Christmas decorating?

Minki's day out.

Finally after a long delay!

Wow this was in January, I'm sorry I've been sick and right now I have an upper back muscle spams that hurts so much I can't move my right arm much and can't turn my head completely  to the right.

So, on January 28 we took Minki out and here is the post I was gonna make (picture spam is very possible):

We took Minki out on a little trip to Petco. She had so much fun! And I really enjoyed taking pictures of her, she's such a happy and affectionate little fluffball.

She paid a little attention to the fishes, but her absolute favorite were the guinea pigs. She was so curious about them and wanted to play with them.

Oh and of course it wouldn't be a day outwith Minki if she didn't have every single employee and costumer pet her.

We ended the day with some ice cream for the humans, and Minki had a little whipped cream (I didn't take a picture because I was busy with ice cream. It's hot here in the island so ice cream was my priority at that moment and not taking pictures.....

(this post was originally supposed to be posted yesterday...)

DIY project. Glass Marbling.

I made a do-it -yourself project and wanted to share it here in my blog. I had a little helper too that you'll see in this somewhat tutorial I'm making.

In this first post I'll show how I painted a glass bowl with nail polish, and how it looks like using said bowl to make my own terrarium.

Things used:

The bowl I used was given to me by my grandmother, but any glass bowl, vase, cup, etc. can be used. Dollar stores and craft stores normally have pretty nice ones for cheap.

To paint it I used some nail polishes I had lying around. The ones I used came out pretty dark, so I suggest adding one or two bright colors to contrast with the darker colors. Also, remember to use a toothpick!

How it went down:

~The first thing I did was clean the bowl and let it dry. Then my little helper Suki saw fit to inspect the bowl before giving me the go ahead for this project!

~After Suki's inspection I filled a bucket with clean water. Make sure the bucket is big enough for the glass bowl, vase, cup, etc. you'll be using. I also recommend using an old bucket, because the nail polish WILL stain the bucket.

~For the marbling part it is easier to have all the nail polishes slightly open because you have to be a little fast to get the effect before it dries. Pick the first color and add to the bucket a few drops, make sure it's in the middle. Quickly add a few drops of the other colors you wish to use.

~Using a toothpick drag the colors gently in different directions, of in whatever shape you'd like the marble to be.

~Now the last part is grabbing the bowl and dipping it in the water, but when taking it out use a scooping motion so the nail polish sticks. If you just dip it and take it out the nail polish will just stay in the water and the process will have to be repeated. This is how the bowl looked after I did this:

~The colors I used were too subtle so I let it dry and marbled it again to get a bit more color and pattern to it. And the end result was this:

and a little close up~

~After it dries I suggest using a paint sealant spray on your finished product so it'll last longer.

Mine didn't come out perfect, but I liked it. It suits it's purpose which I'll show you in the next post~

Suki sure liked helping, she inspected every step before letting me go ahead ahahaha.

She says she's seen better,  but it was a good try for my first time. But she also just wanted to play with her teddy so I don't take her criticism to heart. I love my little Queen.

and meet Terry the terrarium:

Suki says have  nice day/night everyone,

see you guys on the next post!

life lately.

Life has been busy lately, and I haven't had time to just sit down and have some blogging time to myself. It's currently 6:30 am as I am writing and making this blog post while all three kids are asleep. I haven't been able to make many blog post, but I have a diy project one on the way (it might take a little while).
For now I'll leave you guys with a couple pf pictures of the reasons I've been so busy, but at the same time enjoying my  time with them. They are a joy to me, and I love them so much and I hope you'll be fond of them too.

My precious Minki

My little fluff ball Nina and charming Claudette (she came with the kids and she's a sweetheart)

I know life is busy, but it's the little moments that make everyday things worth it and I wouldn't change my right now for anything.

How are you guys? Tell me what's new?

Con amor,
Yaris ♡
